Food Donations
In place of an admission fee, we invite festival-goers who are able to bring a non-perishable food donation for The Bread Basket of NEPA.
Food Donations in Place of Admission
NEPA Pagan Pride is free and open to everyone. Rather than charging an admission fee, we invite visitors who are able to bring a donation of non-perishable food. We think of it as our voluntary price of admission: a simple way for a day of celebration to also do something useful for our neighbors.
No one is turned away for not bringing food. Every donation collected at the festival is given to Bread Basket of NEPA to help stock local food pantries.
Why We Collect Food
Pagan Pride is about visibility, education, celebration, and community. For us, being part of the community also means giving something back to the place where we live. Turning festival admission into a food drive gives everyone who comes through the gate an opportunity to help meet a very real local need.
About Bread Basket of NEPA
Bread Basket of NEPA is an interfaith nonprofit that has worked to reduce food insecurity in Lackawanna County since 1984. Today it supports seven food pantries that provide both shelf-stable groceries and fresh food to individuals, families, and veterans. Bread Basket also participates in DoorDash's Project DASH program, helping deliver food to neighbors who have difficulty getting to a pantry.
